At the beginning of your first KMI session there will be an initial intake where Irvin will get to know you, your health history and what your goals for the series are.
Irvin will then leave the room to get washed up while you change. It is best to wear plan cotton underwear (and Bra for women), or gym shorts (and tank top) if you are more comfortable. When Irvin comes back into the room he will do a visual assessment of your standing and walking posture. After this assessment Irvin will begin with the work which will usually start with hands on work at the massage table. During all of the sessions Irvin tracks your progress through a visual assessment including watching you stand, walk and stretch. Much of the work of these sessions are done on the table but some of the work is done with you sitting on a bench or standing. Most of the work in a Structural integration session is done with client participation; such as actively moving muscles while tissue is being worked. You are in control of how deep the pressure is and if it needs to stop. Each session has a different focus, but all 12 of the sessions include visual assessment, neck work, and seated back work. |
